CALHOUN, Ga. — A Gordon County man has been arrested and charged with aggravated child molestation following a sheriff’s office investigation that began after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance last month.
According to Sheriff Mitch Ralston, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Kentucky Drive near Calhoun on September 16, 2025, after receiving a report of a domestic incident in which a gunshot was fired. No injuries were reported, but during the response, deputies learned of an alleged child molestation that had occurred prior to the disturbance.
The next day, investigators with the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office launched a formal investigation into the allegations. Detectives interviewed the victim and witnesses and executed two search warrants, seizing multiple items of physical evidence.
On the evening of September 18, at around 9:30 p.m., detectives arrested Christopher Joel Jackson, 55, of 211 Kentucky Drive. Authorities said additional evidence was collected from Jackson at the time of his arrest.
Jackson has been charged with aggravated child molestation and related offenses involving a minor. He remains in custody at the Gordon County Jail pending bond.
The sheriff’s office has not released further details, citing the ongoing investigation and the involvement of a minor victim.
