Early voting continues in Gordon County after they announced a second employee in the Gordon County Election Office tested positive for Covid-19.
The county sent out a press release stating the employee tested positive and the voting location in the courthouse annex would be sanitized on Sunday. The county is expected to reach 9,000 early voters by the 5 p.m. today.
The county has been adhering to the CDC guideline to reduce the spread during early voting. These include temperature and symptom screening, social distancing, single-use pens, and having one person open the door to limit cross-contamination. Voting equipment is cleaned after each use.
The building was sanitized Sunday and prior to that and will be sanitized nightly.
Voting will continue by mail and secure drop box.
