Fairmount Man Arrested Following Reported Assault at Gordon County Home

GORDON COUNTY, Ga. — A Fairmount man is facing multiple felony charges following a reported assault at a residence Saturday afternoon, according to authorities.

Gordon County sheriff’s deputies and Fairmount Police responded to a private residence on Scott Brown Road in Fairmount on Aug. 8 after a 911 caller reported an assault in progress.

According to authorities, deputies entered the home and quickly took Torie Nujuan McClain, 48, of Fairmount, into custody.

Investigators said McClain had sustained injuries from a family member who intervened during the alleged assault. He was transported to a medical facility for treatment. Authorities said deputies also requested medical assistance for the victim.

Following the arrest, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence. Investigators collected physical evidence and interviewed witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities said McClain is expected to face charges of aggravated assault, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy and false imprisonment.

Additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident have not been released.
